Bass Contest – Name for New Bass more info

Hi Everybody,

Wow! great feedback so far. You have posted tons and tons of great name ideas for this new bass design, however I have to clarify one thing because it looks like it was not clear enough.

Let´s see: posting the name is a second step necessary in order to participate in this contest but, the name WILL NOT WIN this contest, but final draw will determine who is the winner. All of you who posted name idea, no matter if you have submitted one or hundred names will take a part in the final draw. I´m very glad to see a lot of ideas for name from any of you, but one name is enough.

So the final drawing will take place here in Barcelona in our shop in September 2009 after our summer holidays. The final date should be determined yet.

Thanks all of you for your feedback.

Jerzy

Jerzy

Jerzy. I think a great name for this bass would be paradigm.

Are you familiar with the english phrase "paradigm shift"? a paradigm shift is used to describe a change in basic assumptions.

Since you yourself have described this bass as a new style (different from what others…and even from what you have done) I think PARADIGM is a fitting name.

I commend you on this endeavor. I know how difficult it is to break out of old habits and styles, especially when you like those styles, but I think you have been faithful in your attempt to do something different, but beautiful.

      Hi Kyle,

Thanks for the name. Did you post that name to our forum already? It´s better for me to keep all ideas in one place.

hi jersy, firstly congratulations on the new design,it is beutifull.i have allways loved this natural colour in bass appearence.unfortunately after i submitted for your news letter i am unable to log in to the forum to leave a name suggestion for the competition, do you know why this is?
any way i suggest the name " SIREN" after the beutiful mythical creatures whos singing would enchant mortals to distraction.

    Jerzy:
    Salud:
    Nacho.

    • #6 by Jerzy Drozd on May 18, 2009 - 14:44

      Hola Nacho,

  13. #18 by Tino on May 19, 2009 - 06:39

Yo le pondria "embrujo" a ese bajo

    HOLA JERZY

    Hi Jerzy!

The only name that suited this bass in my mind was “Absolution”, because this bass is absolutely gorgeous, beautiful, and top of the line. I can only imagine how gorgeous it sounds and plays. I hope more than anything that I get the privilege to advertise a Jerzy bass on stage one day!! Keep on building dreams!!

    Hi Jerzy,
The name I suggested was “The Gift”, I really hope you like it, it’s simple and quite original in my opinion.

    Take care

Salam Maleikum brother Luthier ……….. I am Rinaldo Bruscain, luthier from Brazil/São Paulo …… would like to think on the name and could be “FEELING” ….. because of its subtility in the use of your knowledge in wood to the accurate project in cnc router ………. congratulations …….. .·.

As I posted on the first naming thread, I feel that Eloquence or Lucidity would be very fitting names due to the qualities and characteristics that the bass’ specifications would impart to it. Just a thought.

    hello,
I thought in: “SoulHorn ” : the horn of the unicorn is unique like this unstrument and it allows to express what we have in our heart, in our head, in our mind, in our soul…

    why not…

    best regards

Maybe the Jerzy “Mercurius” (the trickster figure), it’s both metal and liquid (not that I’m emphasising Metal, which is not my bag). It is not what it appears, perhaps even more than it appears……. an alternative to “Mercurius” is Mercury’s other name “Quicksilver”.
Anyway good luck with the production…

A mi megusta mucho el nombre “New Jerzy”.

  30. #35 by Carroll Hale on September 3, 2009 - 11:21

I would name the base “Massif”.

The name has two meanings, both of which are appropriate for this bass design. “Massif” is the French word for “massive”. When viewed with you holding it, the bass appears massive.

“Massif” also is a geologic term describing a condition where one section of a mountain that has fractured and become offset from the rest of the mountain. When I look at it, the visual offset to the upper and lower halves of the bass mirror this geologic condition.

    Hi Jerzy,

A possible name for the new singlecut bass could be for me:

    - Passion or
    - Barca

    Greetz,

    Hey Jerzy,

Great looking bass. I got my name suggestion in a few days back. I had a thought about the process for naming that I think would be fun and spark intrest. If possible creat a place on your site to list the guitar names that make the “short list” (final cut). This list would of course grow as we get closer to the final date and we would all keep checking in to see what was on the short list and if our suggestion was one of the names. Best of luck with all of this
    …. Cary
